Sex Offender Charged With Trespassing At Annapolis
Aug 29, 2007, WJZ CBS 13, Baltimore

(AP) ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Anne Arundel County police say a 22-year-old sex offender was charged with trespassing yesterday after he tried to enter Annapolis High School to pick up a family friend.

School officials say a visitor tracking program that scans a national registry of sex offenders alerted staff that Torrence Davis, of Annapolis, was listed as a potential sex offender.

Davis left the school without the student, but he was arrested later and charged with trespassing.

The student's mother confirmed to police that she had sent Davis, who is a family friend. But, as a sex offender, Davis is banned from school property without written permission from school officials.

According to court documents, Davis pleaded guilty last year to the fourth-degree sex offense and received three years of supervised probation and a suspended six-month prison sentence.
